8th Annual Blossom Ball

Farr Nezhat

Good evening and thank you very much Tamer. It is an honor to be here among you and I would like to thank the Endometriosis Foundation of America, especially Ms. Padma Lakshmi and my dear friend Tamer for this honor.

Again, I do not want to elaborate our goal about addressing the issues related to endometriosis. One out of ten women has this condition; one million women around the world suffer because of this condition; pain, infertility and organ dysfunction. My brothers, Camran and Ceana Nezhat and I, for almost the past thirty years have devoted our lives to publish, treat and teach this condition. I was lucky that I was able to be a gyn- oncologist, and be under mentorship with my professor Carmel Cohen who sitting over there and to be able to look, not only at the benign aspect of this condition but also the cancer arising from this condition. Although the incidence is low it has, however, significant impact in treating this disease and preventing certain ovarian cancer.

I want to again thank you for this honor and also acknowledge my mentorship and work that my dear friend Carmel Cohen has given to me. Thank you very much again for this honor.
