Endometriosis Education for Grades 6–12

Free, age-appropriate resources to help students understand their bodies and advocate for their health.

ENPOWR is the Endometriosis Foundation of America’s free, youth-centered education program for middle and high schools.

Through engaging lessons, classroom resources, presentations, printed materials, and staff support, ENPOWR helps students build menstrual health literacy, learn about endometriosis, recognize concerning symptoms, and feel more confident speaking up about their health.

When Students Know More, They Can Ask for Help Sooner

Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory disease that can cause severe pain and affect many parts of daily life. Symptoms often begin during adolescence, yet many young people are told that their pain is “normal” or something they should simply learn to manage.

ENPOWR helps schools create space for informed, age-appropriate conversations about menstrual health and endometriosis so students are better equipped to recognize when symptoms may deserve attention and seek support from trusted adults and healthcare providers.

ENPOWR’s goal is not to diagnose students. It is to ensure that young people have accurate information, practical self-advocacy tools, and a supportive school community.

What Students Learn

ENPOWR content is designed to be clear, medically accurate, age-appropriate, and adaptable for different school settings.

Menstrual Health Foundations

Students learn about the menstrual cycle, common experiences, and signs that may be worth discussing with a trusted adult or healthcare provider.

Understanding Endometriosis

Students learn what endometriosis is, who it can affect, common symptoms, and how it may impact school, activities, relationships, and quality of life.

Recognizing When Something May Not Be Right

Students explore how symptoms such as severe pain, heavy bleeding, fatigue, gastrointestinal concerns, or missed school may be signs that additional support is needed.

Self-Advocacy and Seeking Care

Students build practical skills for tracking symptoms, preparing for health visits, asking questions, and communicating their concerns clearly.

Awareness and Reducing Stigma

Students learn how to support peers and loved ones, challenge misinformation, and help create a culture where menstrual and reproductive health can be discussed without shame.

Help Students Feel Informed, Believed, and Supported

Young people should not have to navigate severe symptoms alone—or wonder whether their pain is something they are expected to tolerate.

By bringing ENPOWR to your school, you can help students gain knowledge, build confidence, and connect with the support they need.

ENPOWR provides educational information and resources. It does not replace individualized medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
