Sara Gentzler

Hometown: Gretna, Nebraska
Favorite Food: Chips and Salsa
Why Team EndoFound? It's been a struggle for me to find the best treatment route. My hope is that additional support, advocacy, and research will help future endo patients more easily navigate endometriosis pain, implications, and treatment. As a runner and journalist, I feel running and fundraising is an intuitive way for me to play a part in progress.

Ariella Pohl

Hometown: Olney, Maryland
Favorite Food: Pasta (great for marathon training!)
Why Team EndoFound? I’m a pelvic floor physical therapist and have seen many patients with endometriosis struggle to find the correct treatment. My sister and best friend have also been diagnosed and have faced similar struggles. I have seen how painful it can be and have become very passionate about spreading the word in order to help those find treatment and feel less alone.

Cassandra Castillo

Hometown: San Antonio, Texas
Favorite Food: Brick oven pizza
Why Team EndoFound? When I applied I was 2 weeks post-op for a total hysterectomy and oophorectomy due to stage 4 endometriosis. I had no idea that I had endometriosis! I feel like the current protocol of care failed me and is failing women. I believe there is a strong need for education, research, and better care for women's health.

Rebecca Vogel

Hometown: Kingston, New York
Favorite Food:
Avocados! I could eat them for every meal!
Why Team EndoFound? II ran for EndoFound at the Rock n' Roll Half Marathon in DC in 2018 and had a great experience. As a patient, I want other women out there with Endometriosis (and other chronic illnesses) to know that they are not alone and it is possible to tackle your goals. It has been a long time goal of mine to run the NYC Marathon!

Ellen Purtill

Why Team EndoFound? To run the NYC marathon for a charity that raises awareness for a chronic disease that I personally suffer from, would have huge personal meaning to me as it’s combining two significant elements of my life; my love for running and my own experience living with endometriosis.
