McCall Huey
Endometriosis Advocate
McCall Huey is a proud advocate for those navigating the complex journey of endometriosis. Diagnosed following her initial surgery in October 2019, McCall’s personal battle with stage 4 endometriosis led her to a second surgery in February 2020, guided by Dr. Seckin. During this procedure, 51 endometrial lesions were removed, accompanied by an appendectomy and a necessary bowel resection due to the severity of her endometriosis.
The bowel resection introduced unique challenges to McCall’s physical and emotional well-being. Post-surgery, she grappled with digestive adjustments and a rigorous recovery period. Learning to effectively and safely manage her pain while also making adjustments to her diet quickly become the focal points in McCall’s daily life. The emotional toll of navigating these challenges were significant, emphasizing the need for support networks and a holistic approach to recovery.
Beyond her role as a Professional Development Manager at Skadden Arps, McCall is deeply passionate about championing women with endometriosis and spreading awareness about the disease. McCall is a member of the Endofound’s Patient Advisory Committee, where she works to empower women to advocate for early intervention and personalized treatment plans. It is her goal to foster a community where every woman's voice is not only heard but also valued, and where proactive care can transform lives.
