Charlotte Woska

Endo Patient

My name is Charlotte Woska. I live on Long Island in New York. I am 20 years old and currently enrolled in community college. I am graduating with my Associates degree in June and plan to transfer to a four-year college in the fall.

Symptoms of endometriosis began to surface when I was in 8th grade. By the time I was in 10th grade I had seen two gynecologists and been on two different birth control pills. By 11th grade I was vomiting almost daily and missing so much school, I had to be placed on home instruction.

After a litany of doctors who insisted nothing was wrong, I found Dr. Seckin who discovered my appendix was affected by endo and needed to be removed. I am still dealing with the psychological impacts of this journey, but I consider myself lucky to have found it early.
