Ayesha Shand

Endometriosis Advocate

Ayesha Shand is a Philanthropist and Brand Director based in New York City. She currently works as an

Associate Director at Hauser & Wirth Gallery where she has worked for over 7 years in several of their global locations.

Shand’s philanthropy work spans the conservation, feminine health, and mental health spaces- with a specific focus on Asian animal extinction, youth suicide as well as period poverty and endometriosis awareness.

After 15 years of suffering from excruciating pain, of being misdiagnosed and being told by numerous specialists that she did not have endometriosis, she was operated two weeks ago by Dr. Seckin. 12 lesions were removed and of those 12, 8 tested positive for endometriosis.

“I think the best thing about the last two weeks is the feeling of vindication- I was right, my pain existed, and I wasn’t insane; that and the hope of a less painful future…”
