"Explosion” by Rebekka S. Carpenter

Collage of digital photographs

I was diagnosed with endo at 19 and have had two surgeries to try and help my pain. Having endometriosis at such a young age has been quite tough on me emotionally and physically. I love photography and its ability to help me cope and feel truly happy, but some days I just can't get out of bed and go out and take new pictures. Thankfully, one of my professors showed me I can take images I already have and turn them into abstract collages. This gave me a new way to be creative when I can't get out of bed. I went on to create a series of these collages which were all made on days my endometriosis kept me in bed. I'm thankful for art and this process to help me cope with this disease.

Stronger Than My Struggle: My Battle with Hormones and Beyond
Things were different now. I had been removed from my own cave and shown the light- how could I be expected to return to the darkness? My experience with Lupron had opened my eyes. I wasn’t just crazy or overly emotional: it was my hormones that affected me and it wasn’t just in my head...

Holiday Recipe from Jessica Murnane's One Part Plant
When you have endo, inflammatory foods are oftentimes not our friends. And during the holidays, there can be a lot of inflammatory foods. But it's all about finding balance during the holidays. So, I like to make sure I have a few dishes on hand that I know will be endo-friendly. This dish is one of my favorites! Flavorful, colorful, and easy to make...the winning combination for a great recipe.
