Endometriosis Foundation of America: An Online Patient Community

Margaret Cianci

Dear %Subscriber:CustomField1%,

The passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a profound loss. For generations, she has guided the national dialogue and the highest court in this country on gender equality, the importance of stemming discrimination, women's healthcare rights, and so much more.

Justice Ginsburg inspired a nation, even becoming an icon to today's younger generations, who dubbed her "Notorious RBG."

She was fierce in her beliefs and a calming presence on the bench and opened our minds to the infinite possibilities of dialogue and cooperation. In that spirit, we will continue raising our voices, ensuring that endometriosis and women's reproductive health remain a priority in this country.

In community,

margaret

EndoFound's New Scientific & Medical Director
Webinar

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Dan Martin as EndoFound’s first scientific and medical director. A retired gynecologist and specialist in excising endometriosis, Dr. Martin will help answer questions that patients and medical professionals bring to EndoFound while also improving and expanding the Foundation’s education initiatives. “I’ve been teaching forever, and I will continue to help EndoFound educate,” Dr. Martin says. “I’ve always said that, as a surgeon, you look for what you know and you see what you look for, but if you don’t know to look for it, you don’t see it. That’s especially true with endometriosis.”

Giving Back: Leslie Patriarco’s Endo Story
Webinar

Leslie Patriarco spent years looking for answers for why she was experiencing so much pain. Despite endometriosis coming up frequently on her online search for answers, Leslie thought there was no way—her doctor had already said there was no chance she had endo. But she continued doing her research and advocating for herself. “After finding EndoFound’s website,” Leslie writes, “I read about every single thing I had been feeling for years in the patient testimonials and informational section.” Now, Leslie’s giving back by not only sharing her own story, but also launching a fundraiser for endo awareness through One Hope Wine. Thank you, Leslie!

Charity Streaming for EndoFound: Mellana
Webinar

Recently, Twitch Partner Mellana hosted a 30-hour stream-a-thon on Twitch for endometriosis support and awareness, raising nearly $1,000. Mellana raised money for her best friend, Melissa. “I had no idea about the hardships that those with endo endure,” Mellana says, “so I was really moved by her constant strength battling this disease.” Mellana is a Twitch partner, so she naturally chose to stream as a fundraising platform. “Melissa is beloved in the gaming community that I am deeply involved in,” Mellana adds, “so it's no surprise to know that others wanted to support her in her fight as well.” Thank you, Mellana, for your generosity and support. If you’re a gamer and want to stream for EndoFound, learn more in the link below.
