The Endometriosis Foundation of America is a nonprofit organization focused on fighting against the devastating effects of a disease that affects millions of women and adolescent girls. Through increased awareness, education, research and legislative advocacy, the EFA is committed to improving affected individuals' lives by early detection and treatment.
Increase general public awareness about endometriosis by informing 50,000 people about the disease (outside of the medical community) in 2009.
Promote early intervention through dialog and the education of 2,000 medical professionals in 2009.
Actively participate in ongoing endometriosis research activities sponsored by NIH (National Institute of Health).
Offer one grant for research into the cause of endometriosis. Application deadline to be no later than October 1, 2010 and award decision to be made no later than December 31, 2010.
Raise $100,000 to further the Mission in 2009.
